The BAFTA Film Awards longlists have been unveiled, and we’re thrilled to announce that MPC has two films in the running for Special Visual Effects, with both Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and Top Gun: Maverick making it through to the top 10!
BAFTA – the British Academy of Film and Television Arts – is a world-leading independent arts charity that brings the very best work in film, games and television to public attention and supports the growth of creative talent in the UK and internationally.
Working with Director Joseph Kosinski, MPC’s team delivered over 950 shots for Top Gun: Maverick, which brings aviator Pete Mitchell back from the past to lead Top Gun’s elite graduates on a new mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those chosen to fly it.
MPC also teamed up with Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro to deliver the visual effects on his reinvention of the classic tale Pinocchio.
A huge congratulations to our global teams on both of these amazing projects.
The final BAFTA nominations will be announced on Jan. 19, with the award ceremony taking place Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall.
