Meshroom is an open-source tool developed by the MPC Paris teams, led by Benoit Maujean and Fabien Castan. This tool automates camera tracking and simplifies the 3D reconstruction of visual effects. By significantly reducing the time required for these technical steps, Meshroom allows teams to focus more on the creative aspects of their projects.
Thanks to precise camera motion estimation, Meshroom saves several days of work while also reducing the carbon footprint associated with post-production. This tool represents a real step forward in efficiency and sustainability in the field of visual effects.
Meshroom has already been used in major productions, such as Jacques Audiard’s film Emilia Pérez, demonstrating its effectiveness and potential to meet the demands of the most ambitious cinematic projects.
Being a finalist for the César & Techniques Innovation Award 2025 is a wonderful recognition of the hard work and dedication of our teams. This award highlights projects that contribute to the development of technologies serving the film industry, and we are honored to be part of it.
